Jens Karraß
Jens Karraß (born October 14, 1968 in Hoyerswerda ) is a German athlete and author.
Life
From 1976 to 1985 he was a student at the Albert Schweitzer High School . He then attended the Cottbus sports school " Wladimir Michailowitsch Komarow " until 1988 . Karraß then moved to Berlin and completed a two-year traineeship at the Lausitzer Rundschau . From 1990 he studied political science at the Otto Suhr Institute and at the John F. Kennedy Institute for North American Studies at the Free University of Berlin . After knee surgery in August 1993, he had to give up running for six months. In 1995 he moved to the TU Berlin and graduated with a diploma as a media consultant.
successes
As early as 1987 Karraß was the European Junior Champion over 10,000 m in Birmingham . In 1990 he was GDR champion over 3000 m in the hall. In 1991 he was German champion in the 10,000 meter run . Together with Achim Achilles he writes a running column for Spiegel Online , is the author of two books and runs a homepage for running advice.
