Jens Peter Junggreen

Jens Peter Junggreen (born August 14, 1827 in Aabenraa ; † July 19, 1886 ) was a tobacco manufacturer and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Junggreen attended the German elementary school in Aabenraa. He moved to Copenhagen in 1848 in order not to be drafted into the Schleswig-Holstein army . In 1850 he was drafted into the Danish army without taking part in combat operations. From 1853 to 1856 he was in Australia and America and worked a. a. as a prospector . In 1857 he returned to Aabenraa and worked successfully as a tobacco manufacturer. Since 1864 he worked in newspapers for the Danish ethnic group , in 1875 he was sentenced to six months imprisonment for lese majesty , which he had to serve in Magdeburg .

From 1884 until his death he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of the Province of Schleswig-Holstein 1 ( Hadersleben , Sonderburg ) and the Danish minority .
