Jens Reimer Prüß

Jens Reimer Prüß (born July 2, 1950 in Elmshorn ) is a German journalist, speechwriter and book author.

Prüß completed his studies at the University of Göttingen in 1977 as a social economist . From 1978 to 1980 he completed an internship at the Heimatspiegel in Norderstedt . From 1980 to 1981 he was (together with Jürgen Bischoff and Harald Breuer) first editor-in-chief of the Kieler Rundschau . This was followed by several years of editing at the Hamburger Rundschau (1982-84), the German General Sunday Gazette (1984/85), the Stern (1985/86) and again the Kieler Rundschau (1986/87). After the end of this period and after working for the Fußboden-Zeitung (a specialist body in the carpet industry) for one year , Prüß became a speechwriter for the First Mayor of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, Henning Voscherau (1989–1991), then for the Hamburg Environment Senator Fritz Vahrenholt (1991–1991). 97). He then worked in various functions for the Hamburg environmental authority until May 2011 , most recently as a web editor. From June 2011 to July 2015 he was permanently employed, then until spring 2018 as a freelance speechwriter for the First Mayor Olaf Scholz .

On the side, Prüß wrote freelance for the SPD newspaper Vorwärts (1995-2006), the former football history specialist Libero and other magazines. He continues to work as a one-off speechwriter, author (most recently Ballesterer , taz , Zeitspiel , NOZ and others) and publisher, including historical football books.
