Jensen Island is a small, rocky island off the coast of the East Antarctic Kemplands . It is located 4.5 km northwest of Cape Boothby .
The crew of the Nella Dan entered the island in February 1975 as part of a campaign by the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions . The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named her after John Brench Jensen, who was the captain of this research vessel in the 1970s and 1980s.
