The Jerk (or Jerkin ' ) is a rap dance that originated in Los Angeles , California in 2008 and is the current trend in hip-hop culture.
The jerk, spread mainly via videos, has a performance character like other orientations in raptance and contains a symbolic appropriation of public spaces; insights into the private sphere of the artist (house, family) are often integrated into the dance scenes. In addition to dance, characteristic fashion is an important element of movement. It combines elements from the skating, hip-hop and emo - stylistics ; own accent are tight, brightly colored jeans and a variety of colors, which is also reflected in the collocation of "jerk" as a name for rap dance with "color" and derivatives thereof in proper names (e.g. names of bands, songs, dance videos) and allusions to color terms (e.g. B. DaltonzZ ).
