Jerry Haenggli's artistic practice includes various techniques such as drawing, painting, and collage. Photographs found in various archives, especially on the Internet, serve as the basis for his figurative imagery with a tendency towards abstraction .

Jerry Haenggli prefers to deal with the abyss of human existence, emphasizing violence. While his early work is still reminiscent of scenes from horror films with black, white and blood-red tones and revolves around topics of self-mutilation, despair and destruction, his color spectrum expands later while the range of motifs is a little less explosive but still gives an idea that Jerry Haenggli has nothing to do with current forces in society and wants to reveal the ambiguity of morals.

The range of motifs extends from dramatic landscapes to portraits to representations of groupings and defines the artist's own concept of realism. The individual disappears behind ink stains or the unfinished line, the scenes are only legible at second glance and are often characterized by gaps. He withdraws his pictures from unambiguous reading and wants to create space for viewers.
