Jerry Tillery (born October 8, 1996 in Shreveport , Louisiana ) is an American Football Defensive Tackle for the Los Angeles Chargers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football in Notre Dame .

Early career

Tillery attended Evangel Christian Academy in Shreveport, Louisiana. As a senior, he had 93 tackles and seven sacks . He signed up to play college football at the University of Notre Dame.

college

Tillery originally wanted to play Offensive Tackle as a 2015 newcomer to Notre Dame , but it was later decided that he would play Defensive Tackle . That season he played 12 games with three starts, scoring 12 tackles and one sack. As a sophomore in 2016, he started 11 of 12 games and scored 37 tackles. As a junior in 2017, Tillery started all 13 games and finished the season with 56 tackles and 4.5 sacks. He also played his senior year at Notre Dame in 2018. In his final season at Notre Dame, Tillery sustained an injury to his shoulder that required surgery.

Tillery was selected as the 28th pick in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Chargers.
