Count Jerzy Antoni Potocki (born January 29, 1889 in Vienna , † September 10, 1961 in Geneva ) was a Polish nobleman, captain of the cavalry and ambassador .

Life

Jerzy Antoni Potocki was the son of Elżbieta Matylda Radziwiłł and Roman Potocki, the third entertainer of Łańcut . He was the grandson of Alfred Józef Potocki and great-great-grandson of Jan Potocki . After the dissolution of Austria-Hungary , he joined the newly formed Polish army on January 8, 1919 , was appointed to the general staff and sent to Budapest as a military attaché .

In 1933 he was appointed ambassador to Rome, but did not take office in protest against the four-party pact . From June 1, 1933 to May 15, 1936 he was ambassador to Ankara and from 1936 to 1940 in Washington, DC. After 1945 he lived in Switzerland.
