Jesús Prado

Jesús Prado (born March 6, 1946 in El Salto , Jalisco ) is a retired Mexican football player who mainly played in midfield .

Life

José de Jesús Prado Velázquez was under contract with the CD Cruz Azul between 1967 and 1972 . During this period, Prado won the Mexican championship and the CONCACAF Champions Cup three times, as well as the Mexican cup competition and the Supercup once .

National team

During the same period, Prado completed a total of six international appearances for the Mexican national team . He made his debut on his 21st birthday when he played in the first game of the Mexicans for the CONCACAF Nations Cup in 1967 against Nicaragua (4-0). On March 19, 1967, he came in the last game of the Mexicans in this tournament against Honduras (1-0) to his only international goal. His last international appearance was on January 26, 1972 in a friendly against Chile, which was won 2-0.

Prado was involved in a shootout twice in Guadalajara . On March 8, 1971, after a festival, he was hit by a bullet in the left thigh. On June 1, 1974, he was present when the football player Octavio Muciño, who was under contract with Chivas at the time , was hit by several bullets while leaving a bar and died two days later.
