Ignacio "Nano" de Jesús Prado Juarez (born September 21, 1993 in León ) is a Mexican cyclist who is active on track and road .
Athletic career
Nano Prado's father was a cyclist himself and took his son to a bike race for a festival in the El Coecillo district of Léon . Although untrained, Prado did well in this race, so his father bought him his own racing bike. At the age of 15 he took part in official races for the first time.
At the Pan-American Championships in 2014, Prado won the silver medal in the individual time trial (U23). In the following year he won a total of four medals on track and road: Gold twice, in the individual time trial (U23) and in scratch , silver in the elite individual time trial and in the Omnium . At the UCI Track World Championships in London in 2016 , Prado was runner-up in scratch. In the same year he was nominated for participation in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where he finished 15th in the Omnium.
