Ludwig Fay

Ludwig Benno Fay , also Louis Fay (born March 24, 1859 in Gerresheim , † August 16, 1906 in Düsseldorf ), was a German animal painter from the Düsseldorf School .

After his first painting and drawing lessons with his father Joseph Fay , he was a private student of the Düsseldorf battle painter Emil Hünten , who trained him to be a horse painter. Through his mother Marie, a daughter of the publisher and printer's owner Heinrich Arnz (1785–1854, Arnz & Comp. ), He was the nephew of the painters Albert and Otto Arnz as well as Oswald Achenbach and Albert Flamm .
