Career
Fibiger first played in the 1996/97 season at the age of 16 in the British Columbia Hockey League for Victoria Salsa, before going to the University of Minnesota Duluth for four years in 1997 and studying. During this time he was selected in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft in the seventh round in 178th place by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim . However, they never signed him and the transfer rights to his person lapsed.
Before the 2001/02 season he signed his first professional contract as a free agent with the San Jose Sharks . The Sharks used the Canadian in his freshman year in the American Hockey League with the Cleveland Barons . There Fibiger stayed two more seasons and ran in the 2002/03 season in 16 games in the NHL for San Jose. But he could not score a scorer point. After his contract expired after the 2003/04 season, he signed a new contract with the Ottawa Senators in the summer of 2004 . Due to the total failure of the 2004/05 season because of the lockout , Fibiger only played for the Binghamton Senators in the AHL.
For the 2005/06 season , the defender decided to move to Europe to the Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg in the second German Bundesliga . In the 2006/07 season he was able to win the championship title of the second division with Wolfsburg and rose with the team to the DEL . After a year in the DEL, he ended his career in summer 2008.
