Jessica Palud

Jessica Palud (born March 7, 1982 in Paris ) is a French director and screenwriter .

Life

Palud is the daughter of film director Hervé Palud ; she grew up with a sister in Paris. She finished school with a Baccalauréat L and from 2003 initially worked as a film assistant. Palud works with Bernardo Bertolucci ( The Dreamers ), Sofia Coppola ( Marie Antoinette ) and Philippe Lioret ( Don't worry, I'm fine , Welcome ); Lioret cast her as the first assistant director in 2011 in All our wishes .

As early as 2013, Palud had made her first feature- length film, Les yeux fermés , which she directed and wrote the script with Olivier Chenille . In 2016, Palud's first short film Poupée followed . She directed again and wrote the script with Clémence Madeleine-Perdrillat . Her second short film Marlon was released in 2017 , which she wrote again with Madeleine-Perdrillat. Marlon has screened at numerous festivals including the Toronto International Film Festival and the Festival du Court-Métrage de Clermont-Ferrand . For Marlon , Palud was nominated for a César in the category Best Short Film in 2018 .

At the beginning of 2018, Palud finished the script for her feature film Revenir . The film drama, starring Niels Schneider and Adèle Exarchopoulos, premiered at the Venice International Film Festival in 2019 and was shown in French cinemas in 2020.
