Jessie Burton

Jessie Burton (born 1982 in London ) is a British writer.

Life

Jessie Burton studied English and Spanish at Oxford University and trained as an actress at the Central School of Speech and Drama . She has received minor roles at the Royal National Theater in London and other British theaters.

Burton writes essays that have been published in the Wall Street Journal , The Independent, and Vogue , among others . Her first novel, The Miniaturist , was on the long list of the Walter Scott Prize for historical fiction in 2014 and received several awards, including two categories from the Specsavers National Book Awards . The bestseller has been translated into several languages. Burton lives in London.
