Jesuit Church of St. Michael
The Jesuit Church of St. Michael ( French : Église Saint-Michel ) is the Jesuit church of the College of St. Michael in Freiburg im Üechtland, named after the Archangel Michael .
It was built in the post-Gothic style from 1604 to 1613 according to plans by Giovanni de Rosis . 1756-1771 which took place rococo reconstruction of the interior, the 1755/57 from Palatine court architect Franz Wilhelm Rabaliatti with the participation of the painter Franz Anton Ermeltraut and plasterer Giuseppe Antonio Albuccio was designed. A thorough restoration took place in 1895–97.
The grave of St. Peter Canisius is located in St. Michael .
organ
The organ in the west stand goes back to an instrument that was built in 1764 by the organ builder M. Bihler (Constance). The instrument was revised and changed several times, and finally restored in 1998. It has 47 stops on three manuals and a pedal .
