Evdokija Lukyanovna Streschneva

Evdokiya Lukjanowna Streschnewa ( Russian Евдокия Лукьяновна Стрешнева ; * 1608 ; † August 18 ^{. Jul} / 28. August  1645 ^greg. In Moscow ) was the second wife of Tsar Michael I of Russia .

She was born as the daughter of the moderate boyar Lukjan Stepanowitsch Streschnew and his wife Anna Konstantinovna Lutschkowa. On February 5th, ^Jul. / February 15, 1626 ^greg. she was married in Moscow to Tsar Michael I of Russia after his first wife Marija Dolgorukova had been poisoned a year earlier.

The couple had ten children, six of whom died during their lifetime:

• Ivan (June 1, 1633 - January 10, 1639), Grand Duke of Russia
• Sofia (14 September 1634 - 23 April 1636), Grand Duchess of Russia
• Tatiana (January 5, 1636 - August 23, 1706), Grand Duchess of Russia
• Evdokija (* / † February 10, 1637), Grand Duke of Russia
• Wassili (* / † March 25, 1639), Grand Duke of Russia

Life at the Russian court was extremely difficult for Yevdokiya, as she was completely under the care and influence of her mother-in-law Marfa Ivanovna, who accompanied her everywhere; they also had the same confessor. Evdokia never gained influence over her husband, not even after Marfa's death.

She died just five weeks after her husband and was buried in the Archangel Michael Cathedral in Moscow.
