Yevgeny Nikolayevich Kocheshkov

Yevgeny Nikolayevich Kotscheschkow ( Russian Евгений Николаевич Кочешков ; born June 23, 1953 in Alma-Ata , † April 30, 2001 in Moscow ) was a Soviet and Russian officer.

He graduated from the Frunze Military Academy in 1988 . Yevgeny Kocheshkov took part in both Chechen wars and from 1990 to 1995 was the commander of the 336th Independent Guard Brigade of the marine infantry in the Baltic Fleet . He was named Hero of the Russian Federation in 1995.

Kocheschkow graduated from the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in 1997 and became Chief of Staff of the Coastal Forces of the Russian Navy . In 1999 he was promoted to major general.

Yevgeny Kocheshkov was buried in the Troyekurovo cemetery in Moscow. A cushion of air - landing craft of the Zubr-class LCAC is named after him.
