Jiří Kocourek

Jiří Kocourek (* 1966 in Karl-Marx-Stadt ) is a graduate economist and organ researcher .

Life

Jiří Kocourek attended the Kreuzschule in Dresden from 1977 to 1985 and was a singer in the Kreuzchor . From 1987 to 1991 he studied economics at the Leipzig Commercial College .

In 1992, Kocourek became a consultant for foundations and associations at the Stadtsparkasse Dresden , later the Ostsächsische Sparkasse. In 2007 he became administrative director of the Protestant School Center in Leipzig. In 2008 he became managing director of the traditional company Hermann Eule Orgelbau in Bautzen . Since 2013 he has been the artistic director and again the administrative director of the Evangelical School Center in Leipzig.

Jiří Kocourek has been building and researching organs since 1984. He published numerous writings and essays on organ builders and organs in Saxony and Bohemia. Jiří Kocourek is an organ expert and advises on organ restoration. He also gives organ concerts.

Jiří Kocourek was a member of the board of the Johann Sebastian Bach Foundation in Leipzig from May 2014 to May 2017 .
