Jiří Teplý (born December 2, 1962 in Nové Město na Moravě ) is a former Czech cross-country skier .

Career

Teplý, who started for the Dukla Liberec and the TJ Nové Město na Moravě, made his debut in Bohinj in December 1988 in the cross-country skiing world cup and finished 31st in the 30 km freestyle. At the 1991 World Championships in Val di Fiemme , he ran 42nd place over 15 km freestyle and 13th place over 50 km freestyle. With that he got his first World Cup points. and at the end of the season he achieved his best overall result with 48th place in the overall World Cup. The following year he ran at the Winter Olympics in Albertville to 21st place over 50 km freestyle and 18th place over 30 km classic. In the 1992/93 season he reached 11th place in Ramsau am Dachstein over 10 km freestyle his best individual placement in the World Cup. At the highlight of the season, the 1993 World Championships in Falun , he finished 54th over 10 km classic and 28th over 30 km classic. He completed his last international race in the following year at the Olympic Winter Games in Lillehammer . There he came in 17th place over 30 km freestyle and eighth place with the relay.
