Jiangbei Machinery Works was an automobile manufacturer from the People's Republic of China .

Company history

The Jilin company was part of Norinco . It started with the production of automobiles in 1986. The brand names were Beifang , Jiangbei , Meilu (also spelled Meiluo ) and Shenjian . Initially, between 50 and 150 vehicles were built annually. Production ended in 2002 when the company merged with Zhejiang Lingtian Motors to form Jilin Tongtian Automobile . JM Star acquired the Meilu brand and used it until the company was acquired in 2003.

Brands

The Jiangbei brand was apparently only used for a prototype in 1986 . Use for production vehicles ran from 1992 to 2002, possibly with a break from 2000 to 2001.

The Meilu and Shenjian brands were used from 1987 to 2002.
