Jigdral Yeshe Dorje
Düdjom Rinpoche Jigdral Yeshe Dorje ( Tib . : 'jigs bral ye shes rdo rje; * 1904 in Pema Ko ; † 1987 in the Dordogne department ) was next to Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche an important lineage holder of the Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism and was arguably the greatest scholar the Nyingma of our time.
biography
Jigdral Yeshe Dorje is considered the direct incarnation of the Nyingma lama Düdjom Lingpa (1835–1904). According to tradition, he is also regarded as the incarnation of Sariputra , Buddha's most important disciple, the Mahasiddha Saraha , the master Krsnadhara and the Mahasiddha Humkara. In Tibet he is said to have been incarnated as Khyechung Lotsawa, a disciple of Guru Rinpoche, in the 8th century . He was also a treasure hunter of Guru Rinpoche's 8th century hidden spiritual treasures. At the request of the Dalai Lama, Düdjom Rinpoche was elected the first "head of the Nyingma" by the various lineage holders of the Nyingma. Many important Nyingma lamas were disciples of Düdjom Rinpoche, including Chagdud Trülku , Gangteng Trülku , Chime Rigdzin Lama, and Sogyal Rinpoche .
