James Hackett, 2014

James Patrick "Jim" Hackett (born April 22, 1955 in London , Ohio ) is an American manager. He has been President and CEO of Ford Motor Company since 2017 .

Life

Hackett graduated from the University of Michigan in 1977 with a bachelor's degree in finance. Hackett then worked in sales at Procter & Gamble in Detroit. In 1981 he moved to the office furniture company Steelcase , where he rose to CEO in 1994 at the age of 39. He stayed in this position until he retired in 2014. During his tenure, he cut almost 12,000 jobs.

Private

He and his wife have two sons and live in Grand Rapids , Michigan .
