Jimmi Roger Pedersen
Jimmi Roger Pedersen (born June 6, 1965 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish jazz musician ( double bass , composition ).
Live and act
Pedersen grew up in Copenhagen, where he studied in 1986 at the Rytmisk Music Conservatory with Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen . He performed in a duo with Horace Parlan in the 1990s; since the mid-1990s he has been part of the Christoph Oeding Trio and Mwendo Dawa , with each of which he created several recordings. He also accompanied Lee Konitz , Benny Bailey and Al Gray .
Pedersen also released two solo bass CDs: Bass Only (2004) and Bass Beyond (2007). Both CDs contain their own compositions. In addition, he has published the textbook Scandinavian Contrabastics , which explains and develops a style of play that is shaped by Ørsted Pedersen. He can also be heard on albums by Jerry Tilitz , Giorgio Crubu, Tobias Schmidt-Relenberg and Anders Roland.
