Jimmy Cool (Original title: Jimmy Two-Shoes ) is a Canadian - American animated series by Edward Kay and Sean Scott .

action

The town of Miseryville is ruled by Luzius Heinous VII, who tries to maintain the bad mood in the town. Most of his subjects work for Misery Inc. , a supplier of tainted food that causes grief. However, when young Jimmy shows up there, he infects all residents with his cheerful manner. Lucius doesn't like that at all. That his only son Belzi befriends Jimmy doesn't make things any easier for him.

main characters

Jimmy: Jimmy always knows how to get the positive out of something, no matter how hopeless it may be. He often appears a little absent-minded and distracted. He has a one-eyed pet named Zerbie.

Belzi: He is Lucius' son and the complete opposite of him. Belzi is fat, tall, good-natured and easy-going. He's also up for any fun and does a lot of nonsense with Jimmy. Belzi is also pretty hungry, which brings him into a lot of uncomfortable situations.

Hölluis: She's Jimmy's neighbor and the only one next to him who looks like a human. Hölluis is a technical genius and works as a mechanical developer in Luzius' service, but she doesn't even let her employer tell her anything. She is known for outbursts of anger, but she is always charming and accommodating towards Jimmy. She is much shorter than him, but her age is never revealed.

Luzius: He is the unrestricted ruler of Miseryville. He is antisocial, selfish, stubborn and these are still his best qualities. However, since he has to suffer from Jimmy's crazy plans, he is more to be regretted than to be feared. The only person he has any affection for is the attractive, tall (compared to him) Jez, who doesn't take him seriously.

Samy: Samy is Luzius' secretary and responsible for many ungrateful tasks. He often serves his boss as a piece of furniture and is only given rubbish to eat. Lucius doesn't thank him for his help at all, although without Samy he wouldn't be able to do anything at all.

The series started on February 13, 2009 on the US cable station Disney XD and on March 21, 2009 in Canada on Teletoon . The German-language first broadcast was on November 21, 2009 on the German Disney XD. It has not yet been broadcast on free-to-air television. On September 9, 2010, the second season began broadcasting in Canada and on October 30, 2010 in the United States. The second season was shown in Germany from May 6, 2011.

It's not exactly determined in the series, but Miseryville could be in Hell . There are also some allusions to this topic in the series: Lucius and Belzi are allusions to the names Lucifer and Beelzebub, which are two names of the devil . Zerbie's name is based on Cerberus (Greek Kerberos ), the hellhound and Hölluis alludes directly to hell with its name.

Running gags

In many episodes, Hölluis tries to flirt with Jimmy and gets really upset when someone speaks to her about it. In addition, her feet can never be seen, as her dress reaches the floor. In one episode it was even a central topic whether she even had feet.
