Jimmaku Kyūgorō Japanese 陣 幕 久 五郎 ; (* May 3, 1829 in Ou-gun , Izumo Province (today: Higashiizumo , Shimane Prefecture ) as Ishigura Shintarō ( 石 倉 槇 太郎 ); † October 21, 1903 ) was a Japanese sumo wrestler and the twelfth yokozuna .

Jimmaku began his career in November 1850 as a wrestler for the Hidenoyama-Beya stable and joined the Makuuchi Division in January 1859 . In 1867 the 1.77 m tall and 120 kg heavy fighter was promoted to yokozuna after winning a tournament in November 1866 and April 1867. In total, Jinmaku was five times tournament winner in his career, but only once as a yokozuna, because he only played a single tournament as such. In his year of appointment, Jinmaku resigned because of the ensuing turmoil of the Meiji Restoration .

It is also noteworthy that Jinmaku made a first compilation of all yokozuna in old age. His list served as the basis for the list published by the Sumo Association in 1926.
