João Crisóstomo Gomes de Almeida

João Crisóstomo Gomes de Almeida (born January 27, 1900 in Parada de Ester , Castro Daire district ; † January 18, 1996 ) was a Portuguese Roman Catholic clergyman and auxiliary bishop in Viseu .

Life

João Crisóstomo Gomes de Almeida received on 10 June 1923, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On February 18, 1956, Pope Pius XII appointed him . as titular bishop of Ierafi and auxiliary bishop in Viseu. The Bishop of Viseu, José da Cruz Moreira Pinto , donated him episcopal ordination on June 8th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the auxiliary bishop in Coimbra , Manuel de Jesus Pereira , and the bishop of Lamego , João da Silva Campos Neves .

Pope Paul VI accepted on November 12, 1964 the resignation put forward by João Crisóstomo Gomes de Almeida. Gomes de Almeida attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
