Jo Un-ok (born August 29, 1992 ) is a North Korean long-distance runner .

Athletic career

Jo Un-ok gained her first international experience at the Macau International Marathon 2015, in which she came in fifth. The following year she was third in both the Pyongyang Marathon and the Beijing Marathon. In 2017 she won the marathon in the North Korean capital and thus qualified for the World Championships in London . There she reached the finish line after 2:36:46 h and thus finished 29th . She then won the bronze medal at the Asian Marathon Championships in Dongguan . In 2018 she took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta for the first time , where she finished fifth in the marathon in 2:38:32 h .
