Joachim von Fürstenberg-Heiligenberg (born January 25, 1538 , † October 21, 1598 in Heiligenberg ) was a count from the noble family of von Fürstenberg .

Life

Joachim was the youngest son of Count Friedrich III. von Fürstenberg (* 1496; † 1559) and Countess Anna von Werdenberg . After the division of the estate with his brothers Christoph and Heinrich, he was left with the allodial estates of Heiligenberg, Trochtelfingen and Jungnau brought in by his mother (1534) . In 1562 he married the wealthy Countess Anna von Zimmer (* 1545 in Meßkirch ; † 1602), she was the oldest of the ten daughters of Count Froben Christoph von Zimmer and a sister of Count Wilhelm von Zimmer . They had fifteen children, only four of whom the parents survived.

Heiligenberg Castle

He rarely appeared at the courts of Maximilian II and Rudolf II, but was entrusted by the emperors with some tasks in Swabia. Heiligenberg was his favorite stay. His portrait is in the knight's hall. Due to his careful and successful management, he was able to significantly expand and expand the Heiligenberg Castle , his coat of arms at the entrance of the castle shows the year of construction 1569. Until the wedding of his eldest son Friedrich IV. (* 1563; † 1617) on September 9, 1584, the bride Elisabeth von Sulz , a daughter of Count Alwig von Sulz , spent three years at his castle. The magnificent knight's hall and the palace chapel were completed for the wedding. While his father was still alive, Friedrich chose Werdenberg Castle in Trochtelfingen as his residence; his second marriage was Anna Maria von Arco , widow of Wolf Rumpf , who gave him the reign of Weitra .
