Joachim Dalitz

Joachim Dalitz (* 1951 in Leipzig ) is a German organist . He has been working at the Konzerthaus Berlin since 1984 .

Education and activity

Joachim Dalitz studied at the Leipzig University of Music a . a. with Hannes Kästner (organ and harpsichord), Heinz Volger, Rolf-Dieter Arens and Hermann Wolf (piano) and Heinz Röttger (conducting).

From 1977 to 1979 he was an aspirant at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. He then worked for five years as an organist at the “Georg Philipp Telemann” concert hall in Magdeburg and as a harpsichordist at the “telemann consort magdeburg”. From 1982 to 1984 Joachim Dalitz was also a lecturer for organ and piano at the Halle University of Church Music .

In 1984 he was appointed concert organist at the former Berliner Schauspielhaus, which was inaugurated as a concert hall, and has worked there ever since.

From 1988 to 1991 he was a lecturer for organ at the Leipzig University of Music.

Dalitz has made guest appearances in 23 countries in Europe, America and Asia and made numerous recordings for radio, television and sound carriers.

In addition to the organ, Dalitz also plays the harpsichord, pedal harpsichord and fortepiano.

Prices

As a student, Joachim Dalitz won the “1. Johann Sebastian Bach Competition for Children and Young People “1968 in Leipzig, 2nd prize in the piano category. In 1976 he received the 2nd prize at the “V. International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition ”in Leipzig. He received an honorary diploma at the "Prague Spring 1979 International Organ Competition".
