Joachim Grage

Joachim Grage (* 1966 in Eutin ) is a German literary scholar and Scandinavian . He has been Professor of North Germanic Philology at the University of Freiburg since 2008 .

Life

Grage grew up in Neustadt in Holstein and graduated from high school there in 1985 . After his community service , he first studied medicine at the University of Marburg , then the subjects German and chemistry for teaching at grammar schools in Göttingen up to the first state examination. At the same time, he began studying Scandinavian Studies, which he completed with a doctorate in 1999 .

From 1996 to 2002 he was a research associate, from 2002 to 2008 junior professor at the Scandinavian Seminar in Göttingen. Since 2008 he has been Professor of North Germanic Philology at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg. Since 2013 he has been the Dean of Studies of the Philological Faculty and Liaison Lecturer at the German National Academic Foundation .

His areas of work are Scandinavian literatures from the baroque to the present day, literary practices and performativity, literature and music, and German-Scandinavian literary relations.

Joachim Grage is co-editor of the Deutsche Søren Kierkegaard Edition.
