Joachim "Achim" Griese (born August 25, 1952 in Berne ) is a former German regatta sailor who competed for the Federal Republic of Germany.

The lawyer and real estate agent belonged to the North German Regatta Club in Hamburg. In 1980 he and Jürgen Homeyer won the German championship in the Star boat class . With his new bow man Michael Marcour he finished second at the 1983 World Championships behind the Spaniards Antonio Gorostegui and José Luis Doreste . At the European Championships held off Kiel in 1983, Alexander Hagen and Vincent Hösch , who are also members of the North German Regatta Club, won ahead of Joachim Griese and Michael Marcour. After Griese and Marcour had won the pre-Olympic regatta off Los Angeles in 1983, they were able to prevail in the association's internal Olympic qualification against Hagen and Hösch. At the 1984 Olympic Regatta , US sailors William Earl Buchan and Steven Erickson won three daily ratings and clearly won. Griese and Marcour had been disqualified in the first race and were only able to secure the silver medal ahead of the Italians and Swedes by finishing third in the last race.
