Joachim Jüriens (born August 8, 1958 in Erlangen ) is a former German soccer goalkeeper .

Career

Joachim Jüriens played in the youth of TSV Frauenaurach, ASV Herzogenaurach and SpVgg Fürth . At Herzogenaurach, Jüriens was used in the regional league, through good performances the Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt noticed the talented twenty-two year old goalkeeper and brought him to the Main in 1980. Jüriens played at Eintracht until 1984. In his first season he won the DFB Cup with Eintracht in 1981, but was never used in the competition. At Eintracht, Jüriens made thirty league appearances, as well as two appearances in the DFB Cup and, in the 1981/82 season, an appearance in the European Cup Winners' Cup . At Eintracht he was in the shadow of the goalkeeper Jürgen Pahl . From 1984 he played one season in the second division, at SSV Ulm 1846 . In 1985 Jüriens left the professional camp and from then on played in the amateur field. Until 1998 he played for the following clubs: SpVgg Fechenheim, Union Niederrad , TSV Mainaschaff, Germania Dörnigheim and SG Bruchköbel.
