Joachim Jahn (journalist)

Joachim Jahn (born September 5, 1959 in Hanover ) is a German journalist . He is a member of the editorial team of the Neue Juristische Wochenschrift .

Life

Joachim Jahn grew up in Hanover and attended the Ratsgymnasium and the IGS Roderbruch there . After graduating from high school there, he studied law at the University of Hanover , where he passed his first state examination in 1989. He then completed a traineeship at the Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung , where he was first local and then political editor. In addition, he wrote a legal dissertation on the prohibition of the " Auschwitz lie " (§ 130 StGB). After working as an editor for the “ Handelsblatt ”, he switched to the business department of the FAZ in 1999, where he mainly wrote reports and comments on business and tax law . Since April 1, 2009 he has worked in the parliamentary editorial office of the FAZ. In May 2016, Jahn moved to the editorial office of the legal journal NJW .

At the same time, he has published numerous specialist articles in legal journals as well as in magazines of the lawyers and judges. Since 2003 he has been teaching regularly at the law department of the University of Mannheim (“key qualifications”; “press law”) and has been honorary professor there since the 2010 summer semester. He was a jury member for the award of several attorney prizes and an examiner in the selection process of the Bucerius Law School (2007 to 2009) as well as a member of the advisory board “New Paths in Legal Training” of the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft . Since 2008 he has also held a teaching position at the University of Münster.
