Joachim Kummert

Joachim Kummert , also Hans-Joachim Kummert (born December 17, 1834 in Mieste , † March 30, 1914 in Kolberg ) was a German politician. For many years he was mayor of the city of Kolberg, previously a member of the Prussian House of Representatives .

Life

Kummert attended high school in Salzwedel and then studied law at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität zu Berlin and at the University of Greifswald . In 1957 he became a member of the Allemannia Heidelberg fraternity .

From 1868 to 1878 he was a district judge in Köslin . During this time he was elected to the Prussian House of Representatives from 1873 for two terms for the German Progressive Party in the constituency of Gardelegen-Salzwedel .

From 1878 to 1907 he was, repeatedly re-elected, mayor of the city of Kołobrzeg . Kummert was also a member of the Pomeranian Provincial Parliament from 1882 to 1907 . In 1907 he was made an honorary citizen of Kolberg.

The written estate of Joachim Kummert, consisting of genealogical documents, private and business correspondence, came to the Geheime Staatsarchiv Preußischer Kulturbesitz in the 1980s .
