Joachim Jerzy Marx (born August 31, 1944 in Gliwice ) is a former Polish football player and later coach .
Athletic career
Club career
Born in the last year of the war in what is now Gliwice , the later Olympic champion began playing football in his hometown at KS Sośnica Gliwice. He matured to the national team in the mid- 1960s at Gwardia Warsaw . In 1974 and 1975 Marx and Ruch Chorzów became Polish football champions . In 1974 the team from Chorzów also won the Polish Cup . In the mid- 1970s , he was one of the established Polish footballers who were allowed to continue their careers beyond the Iron Curtain . The striker was under contract with RC Lens in the northern French coal region between 1975 and 1979 . The ex-selection player of the Biało-Czerwoni ended his sporting career in the early 1980s with the French second division club US Nœux-les-Mines .
Selection bets
With the Polish national team , competing in this context as an Olympic selection, he won the gold medal at the summer games in Munich in 1972 at the football tournament held there . In the final game Marx was not used, but had previously contributed to success in two final round games with 45 minutes each. Overall, the attacker was called up in 23 international A matches between 1966 and 1975, in which he scored ten goals.
Coaching career
Between 1985 and 1988 Marx coached his former club RC Lens.
