Joachim Schulmeyer

Joachim Schulmeyer (born November 10, 1952 in Veckenstedt ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and former member of the Saxon state parliament (1994 to 1998, and 2001 to 2004).

Life

After completing the 10th grade at the POS in Berlin , Schulmeyer worked as a lathe operator and graduated as a skilled worker for cutting mechanics in 1976 . From 1975 to 1991 he was employed at VEB Maschinenfabrik und Eisengießerei Wurzen . After privatization in 1991, the company was renamed Neuman und Esser Wurzen GmbH Kompressorenbau . Schulmeyer was employed as a lathe operator in the company and, after completing his training as a welder and pipe fitter, worked as a pipe fitter from 1992 onwards. From 1990 he was a member of the works council.

Schulmeyer is non-denominational, married and has one son.

Joachim Schulmeyer was non-party until 1990. In 1990 he was one of the founding members of the SPD in Wurzen . In 1990 and 1991 he was chairman of the SPD district association Wurzen and from 1991 to 2001 chairman of the SPD sub-district of Northern Saxony. In 1996 he became the first general secretary of the SPD Saxony and remained so until 2000.

Between 1990 and 1994 Schulmeyer was Deputy President of the Wurzen District Council. From 1994 to 1997 he was a member of the district assembly of the Muldental district and from 1994 city council of the city of Wurzen, where he was chairman of the SPD parliamentary group from 2000. Schulmeyer was also a member of the supervisory board of Wurzener Gebäude- und Wohnungsgesellschaft mbH .

In October 1994 Joachim Schulmeyer entered the Saxon state parliament via the state list of the SPD Saxony. There he was a member of the Committee on Social Affairs, Health, Family and Women and the Petitions Committee . In the following third electoral term, he joined the state parliament on October 11, 2001 as a replacement for Barbara Ludwig . In this term he served on the same committees as in the previous one.
