Joachim Werner Ehrig (born February 21, 1947 in Heidelberg ) is a former German rower who won the 1972 Olympic bronze medal in the four-man category without a helmsman .

The rower from ETuF Essen took fifth place in a four-man at the European Championships in 1969. In 1970 the four-man was re-filled: two rowers from Westphalia, Wolfgang Plottke from Marl and Peter Funnekötter from Münster , came on board as a batsman and his club mate Claus Schneggenburger . At the World Championships in St. Catherines, Canada, this four-man crossed the finish line behind the boat from SC Einheit Dresden and won the silver medal. In 1971 Franz Held from Passau came on board for Schneggenburger. In the line-up of Plottke, Held, Funnekötter, Ehrig, the boat took third place at the European Championships in Copenhagen behind the Dresden four and the boat from Norway. At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, the West German four-man rode in the same line-up as last year and again took third place, with the Dresden four-man winning ahead of the boat from New Zealand.

On September 11, 1972, he was honored by being awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf .
