ETuF food
The Essener Turn- und Fechtklub (ETuF) e. V. was founded in 1884 on the initiative of Friedrich Alfred Krupp and with the participation of the city councilor and Essen entrepreneur Richard Bömke . He offers popular sports, youth sports and competitive sports. He is a member of the Leading Tennis Clubs of Germany .
In addition to the successful senior teams, the club is also characterized by its youth work. Youth development programs can be found in most of the sports on offer.
The club area is located directly on Lake Baldeney .
In 2013, the Ruhr Regional Association included the association on the route of industrial culture.

The club teams are divided into the departments gymnastics , fencing , rowing , tennis , hockey , sailing and golf . Within the hockey department of the ETUF, the teams of the "Ruhrpott Pirates" of the sport lacrosse belong since 2009 .

The two first teams of the women and men play on the field in the field hockey regional league West. In the hall the women play in the 1st and the men in the 2nd Regionalliga West.

The first men's team played in the first tennis league until 2004 . For financial reasons she was not registered for the following championships. In 2008 the ETuF returned to the 1st tennis Bundesliga and reached 6th place. In the summer of 2010, the 1st men's team was again withdrawn from the 1st tennis Bundesliga.
The 1st women's team played in the 1st Bundesliga in 2013 and in the 2nd Bundesliga in 2014 .
