Joachim Wibbeking

Joachim Wibbeking (* approx. 1540 in Lübeck ; † October 28, 1628 there ) was a Lübeck merchant and councilor.

Life

Joachim Wibbeking was the son of Lübeck councilor Paul Wibbeking . As a shipowner, he belonged to the Spanish drivers. In 1578 he was elected to the city council. From 1596 to 1628 he was their treasurer. The archive of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck is keeping the files of a neighboring trial before the Lübeck Higher Court and the Reich Chamber of Commerce , with which he defended himself against the construction of a neighbor of his house at Mengstraße 38 . Wibbeking was married to Margarethe Schulz from Hamburg and died at the age of 88. His daughter Elisabeth married the Lübeck councilor Thomas Störning .
