Joachim von Pappenheim (* 1490 ; † October 16, 1536 in Milan ), also called Joachim I von Pappenheim , was the builder of Neu-Kalden Castle near Altusried .

Life

Joachim von Pappenheim was the son of Wilhelm I von Pappenheim († 1508) and his wife Magdalena von Rechberg († 1508). He was married to Anna von Laubenberg. In 1515, Joachim von Pappenheim rebuilt Kalden Castle near Altusried after the previous building in the immediate vicinity was already falling into disrepair. In 1530, Joachim von Pappenheim took part in the Reichstag in Augsburg with a large company from Elector Johann von Sachsen .

After the Frankfurt Convention in 1536, Joachim von Pappenheim was sent to Emperor Charles V in Italy. On this trip he died on October 16, 1536 in Milan. His epitaph in Sant'Ambrogio bears the following inscription:
