Wilhelm von Pappenheim

Wilhelm von Pappenheim (* 15th century; † 1508 , near Trient ) was lord of Rothenstein Castle and came from the noble family of those von Pappenheim .

Life

Wilhelm von Pappenheim is the son of Heinrich XI. von Pappenheim and his wife Anna von Abensberg . He was married to Magdalena von Rechberg († 1508). From 1458 he held the office of a provincial governor and captain in Augsburg held. In 1490 Wilhelm von Pappenheim was appointed as a councilor to Elector Friedrich III. called in Saxony. Three years later he was at the funeral of Emperor Friedrich III in 1493 . present in a representative capacity. Together with other notables, he carried the 16 provincial and imperial flags. In 1499 Wilhelm von Pappenheim took part in the Swabian War. Four years later, Wilhelm was again a participant in a dispute, as field captain of the Swabian Confederation he took part in the Landshut War of Succession . Wilhelm died in Trento in 1508 on the train to Rome for Maximilian I's coronation . Wilhelm von Pappenheim found his final resting place in Pappenheim .
