Joan Guzman
Joan Guzmán (born May 1, 1976 in Santo Domingo , Dominican Republic ) is a Dominican boxer and normal boom .
amateur
Among the amateurs, Guzman won, among other things, the flyweight in the Argentine city of Mar del Plata in 1995 the gold medal at the Pan American Games and in the light flyweight in 1993 the gold medal at the Central America and Caribbean Games .
His record was 320 fights, 310 wins out of 10 losses.
professional
He was undefeated when he in the super bantamweight on August 17 in 2002, the previously unbeaten Argentinean Fabio Daniel Oliva (18-0-0) in the third round of heavy ko beat and the vacant world title of the Association WBO thereby conquered. He defended the belt a total of five times.
In September 2006 he boxed in super featherweight against Jorge Rodrigo Barrios also for the WBO world title and won by a split point decision. He defended this title against Antonio Davis and Humberto Soto each on points.
