Joaquín de Cosio

Joaquín de Cosío (born September 2, 1789 in El Viejo ; † unknown) was Director Supremo (Head of State) of Nicaragua from July 1839 to October 1839 .

He was a member of the Partido Legitimista .

As chairman of the parliament on April 7, 1838, he declared León to be the meeting place of the parliament from April 24, 1838.

In the decree of August 27, 1839, he announced that the decision on the location of the parliament in accordance with the internal security and calm of the state falls within the competence of the Director Supremos .

On September 2, 1939, he upgraded El Viejo , Villa Real de San Fernando de Masaya , Santa Ana de Chinandega from villa to city.
