Joaquim José Vieira

Joaquim José Vieira (born January 14, 1836 in Itapetininga , State of São Paulo , Brazil , † July 8, 1917 in Campinas ) was a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Ceará .

Life

Joaquim José Vieira studied Philosophy and Catholic Theology at the Seminary in São Paulo . It was on March 8, 1860. Deacon ordained and received on 25 March of the same year, the sacrament of Holy Orders . Vieira then worked as a parish vicar in Paraibuna and Campinas.

On June 21, 1883, Emperor Peter II of Brazil presented him as Bishop of Ceará. After Pope Leo XIII. had confirmed this appointment on August 9, 1883, donated him on December 9 of the same year the bishop of São Paulo , Lino Deodato Rodrigues de Carvalho , the episcopal ordination .

On September 14, 1912, Pope Pius X accepted the resignation put forward by Joaquim José Vieira and appointed him titular bishop of Himeria . The elevation to titular archbishop of Cyrrhus took place on November 8, 1912.
