Jobie Hughes

Jobie Hughes (born July 9, 1980 in Renton , Washington) is an American writer who was particularly successful as a co-author with James Frey under the pseudonym Pittacus Lore .

Life

Hughes grew up in Spencer , Ohio . After success in wrestling in high school, he received an athlete scholarship from Ohio University . There he graduated with a business degree in Management Information Systems. After completing his studies, he got by with various small jobs. He started writing at the age of 24, and at 27 he began studying at Columbia University's School of the Arts in New York City . There he graduated in creative writing in 2008.

Hughes now lives in Michigan .

Works

The first novel ( At Dawn ) was published shortly after graduating in 2009 as a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing (fiction) at Columbia University's School of the Arts. Hughes had the greatest success as a co-author of the "Lorien Legacies", a seven-part science fiction series for young people, the first two parts of which also became # 1 New York Times bestsellers. In total, over three million copies in 27 different languages ​​were sold in 49 countries around the world. The first part, I'm Number Four , was made into a film by producer Michael Bay in 2009.
