Spencer is a village ( Village ) of Spencer Township to the west of the county area of Medina County , Ohio , United States .

The village is located in the middle of the square Spencer Township, about 40 km south of Lake Erie and about 12 km due west of Medina , the next larger city. Spencer is the only village in the township, the remaining 1682 of the total of 2429 residents of Spencer Township live in small settlements outside the boundaries of the village. The village is at the intersection of the two regional roads 162 and 301, the center of the village is at 278 m above sea level.

At the 2000 census , the population of Spencer (Village) was 747 people, who populated an area of ​​2.6 km². A little over 99% of them were white . The per capita income was 16,708 US dollars, just under four percent lived below the poverty line . Over a quarter of the population has German roots.

The place, founded after 1823, is named after a local mill owner named Calvin Spencer in return for providing the lumber for a school.
