Jobst Schaefer

Jobst Schaefer (born December 26, 1912 in Sonderburg , North Schleswig ; † unknown) was a German politician ( DP / CDU ) and former member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Life

Schaefer obtained his university entrance qualification in Wilhelmshaven in 1932 . He then went to the military as a medical officer candidate. He studied medicine in Kiel , passed the state examination in 1938 and received his license to practice medicine in 1939. He received his doctorate in 1943 on the subject of "The nutrition of submariners in war". After the outbreak of the war he was assigned to the submarine arm and assigned as a flotilla doctor in Southeast Asia and other long-distance missions. From 1945 to 1948 he was interned and a prisoner of war. After his release he first worked in a clinic and finally settled in 1950 in Moordorf (East Friesland) as a general practitioner. In addition, the sports pilot Schaefer worked as an official expert for aviation.

In 1952 he became a council member in the Aurich district and in 1956 a district council member. From May 6, 1959 to May 5, 1963 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament (4th electoral term), and from March 29, 1962, he was a member of the CDU parliamentary group.
