Jochen Lettmann

Jochen Lettmann (born April 10, 1969 in Duisburg ) is a former German canoeist , he was German champion, European and world champion in canoe slalom .

At the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona , Lettmann won the bronze medal in canoe slalom by kayak. In 1995 he became team world champion together with Oliver Fix and Thomas Becker . Lettmann set the fastest time at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta , but only finished eighth due to a peat error. In 1997 Lettmann won the World Championship bronze again with the team and then ended his sporting career.

For his sporting successes he was awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf on June 23, 1993.

Jochen Lettmann is the son of Klaus Lettmann , 1963 world champion with the white water canoe. After the end of his sporting career, Jochen Lettmann joined his parents' boat building company in Moers and has been managing director of Lettmann GmbH together with his sister Martina Lettmann since 2004.
