Jochen Summer (born May 28, 1977 in Dietersdorf ) is a former Austrian cyclist .
Athletic career
Jochen Summer started his career in 2000 with the Swiss racing team Phonak . In 2002 he switched to the Austrian team Volksbank-Ideal , where he won the points jersey of the Tour of Austria in his first year .
From 2004 Summer drove for the Professional Continental Team Elk Haus-Simplon . In spring 2005 he won the Poreč Trophy in Croatia. He later won the seventh and final stage of the Tour of Austria after finishing third on the fifth section.
In June 2009 he declared his active career over.
Doping ban 2001
At the beginning of 2001, Summer was banned for three months because the banned substance phentermine was detected in a Swiss national bike race in December 2000 .
He is the son of the Austrian road foreman Hans Summer (* 1951).
