Dietersdorf am Gnasbach is a former municipality in the southeast of Styria with 355 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020). It lies in the judicial district of Feldbach or the district of Southeast Styria . As part of the municipal structural reform in Styria , the municipality has merged with the municipalities of Bierbaum am Auersbach and Sankt Peter am Ottersbach from 2015 ; the new municipality continues to carry the name Marktgemeinde Sankt Peter am Ottersbach. The basis for this is the Styrian Municipal Structural Reform Act - StGsrG.

history

The abolition of the manorial lords took place in 1848. The local community as an autonomous body was established in 1850. After the end of the First World War, there were disputes with the Ljubljana “National Government for Slovenia and Istria” over the area of ​​belonging to the area. After the annexation of Austria in 1938, the community became part of the Reichsgau Steiermark, from 1945 to 1955 it was part of the British zone of occupation in Austria.

music

In 1967, real brass music was brought back to life in Dietersdorf after the war, when five young boys decided to learn a musical instrument at the Gnas music school. The association was officially founded in 1982 and has grown steadily ever since. In 2011 the 30th anniversary was celebrated as part of the district musicians' meeting in Dietersdorf am Gnasbach.

  • Every year the "Kellergasslfest", organized by the Dietersdorf am Gnasbach volunteer fire brigade, takes place in the eponymous Kellergasse.
